Dunning-Kruger Effect
“ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.”
- Incompetent individuals tend to overestimate their own level of skill.
- Incompetent individuals fail to recognize genuine skill in others.
- Incompetent individuals fail to recognize the extremity of their inadequacy.
- If they can be trained to substantially improve their own skill level, these individuals can recognize and acknowledge their own previous lack of skill.

ignorance is never bliss to the other who bear the consequence...
everyone knows thank you of the usual kind
but i experienced another which touched this heart of mine
it was conveyed by this auntie who set next to me
at the end of my 45 minutes bus journey
concord orchard was where she boarded
as she set herself beside me, it made me a little bothered
she was rough when she got onto the seat
and i thought to myself: "oh great! here's a boorish auntie, goddammit!"
her tics were not intentional as i soon realised
it was a documentary on tv that made me wise
ignorant passengers may think she to be mad
and not having her beside them may even make some glad
constant laughter echoed through the bus
cant help but sadly wonder she is the reason for the fuss
auntie made way when the bus was approaching my stop
i thanked her for the gesture to allow me to drop
at this moment she knew i understood
what others seldom could
the thank you came right back at me
it seemed that it had been a while that anyone had treated her with courtesy
as i walked towards my flat
i couldnt help but heart-wrenchingly reflect
how much ostracism would they face
from majority of the human race.

perception management
if the cab is moving and not waiting at the traffic light, it sort of gives the impression that time is not wasted and passengers do not feel easily frustrated =)
some cabbies have this habit doubting me when i tell them to go by a certain route which i know would usu cut couple of minutes from the total journey time...
i guess i dont look very intelligent to them lol

a world without strangers =)
a teen jogger stopped briefly to ask for the time, thanked me and continued with his routine.
when i was taking pics of the row of sakura-like flowers, i made an elderly uncle stop his tracks :) he asked me what flowers they were, he thot i was a botanist lol... he said the flowers werent there before, commented how beautiful they were and continued with his cycling =)
such is the niceties that is non-existent in the bustling concrete jungle but only apparent amongst the cool, calm greeneries...
