uncovered something else my cam can do - long exposure hee =)
took this while on the express bus that was heading home
this was on the JB highway :)
pass by this honda showroom while heading to JB customs
the honda has wings! ahahhahaha :)
how a place of worship should be :)
as a sign of respect, photography is not allowed in the church else i would have loved to take pictures for memory's sake :)
the food at nancy's kitchen tastes almost similar to that of dad's!
brings back good childhood memories to both tee and me
in our younger days, we dreaded having to eat the same old dishes but now we miss our family's cooking =(
we have to thank the drink stall lady who recommended this to us when we asked her whether there were nyonya food places nearby... we had walked for 30mins under the scorching sun and couldnt find any nyonya makan places 'cept seeing stall after stall of chicken rice ones =p tee was getting hungrier by the minute and more frustrated lol hence he decided to approach the auntie at the drink stall :)
reminds me of the back kitchen of my grandaunt dolly's terrace house
she used to make kueh kueh and fishball crackers whenever she knows i'm coming to visit with grandma emily... some days there would be fishball noodles etc :)
these are memories which i will always cherish *sniff*
it was recommended by the waiter whose service, well, requires one to have loads of patience =p
wah! the belchan is chargeable but i'm not complaining cos i kinda can do without it today ahahaha =)
we couldnt understand the want to queue long hours for this under the crazy weather =p
other than the rice came in ball form, surely the taste is almost like the ones back home???
that's why we opted for peranakan food which requires more effort and skill to prepare :)
we had thot that the express bus would lead us directly to the melaka old town but no lor =p
we decided to be adventurous and take the public bus instead of cab
headed to the domestic bus terminal which was nearby
finding the right bus was confusing but tee spotted an auntie waiting at the terminal
she kindly directed us to the right bus to mahkota =)
it was a cool and hilarious experience taking the public bus!
it reminded us of the sbs buses in the 70s! we were also issued with paper tickets :)
the bus was without air condition and it only moved off when the bus was almost full (you have this person touting and trying to get passengers to fill up the bus lol)
those who are so used to our nice, clean and sometimes efficient bus service, you might not get used to this ahaahhaaa ;)
btw, the highlight of this bus journey was that midway through, the bus driver actually got down to buy 4D much to our surprise and amusement ahahhahaha =)
the locals were expressionless when the bus driver got off to do his thing, so it did not amuse them as much as it did to us and the 2 girls one seat ahead of us lol =)
while we waited in the bus, a mandarin-speaking woman in front of us lighted up her ciggie (there was a no smoking sign at the entrance to the bus terminal but apparently residents can choose to ignore it as even the bus tout lighted up soon after lol)
thankfully the wind blew her cigarette smoke to the opp side of the bus, which managed to irritate a tudung wearing teen =p
stuff here are charged at tourist prices wor... but still affordable :)
but that got us discussing abt this sign lol
we rationalised why the letter 'U' is replaced by 'A' in the language
the answer was unlike english, 'bu' is always pronounced as 'boo'
so tee had to pacify the driver, but lucky the driver was nice enough to not show black face when i reached heh
the view after passing thru the SG tuas customs :)
