basic fundamentals

pple blog or have accounts like facebook to rave, rant, share their views, showcase their talents etc
most pple want to stand out and differentiate from others
but there are a few who blatantly copy other styles and they feel pleased when their friends indicate 'like' or commend their posts

this disgust me. utterly.

dont get me wrong, i'm not perfect and i do copy!
if i see a certain style i like, i rationalise to see whether the style can be adopted to make it my own by adding my personal touch to it in order to differentiate it from the original.

let's put it this way, if you are emo and grumpy by nature, dont try to act all happy and cheery by posting 'happy' stuff because it is apparent to the observant that you are faking it just to warrant commends from friends.

i wish i could do selective blocking for my blog...
only then will it show whether i'm just being a paranoid freak or not
the low lifes may stop posting stuff due to lack of 'inspiration' or they may finally create their own style
either way, it seems like a win-win situation
so maybe i should start requesting for this feature to be implemented ;)

mass personalised chopsticks lol ;)

got this from melaka :)
yups, that's my surname :)

lucky cat to ward off copy cats =p

also to bring in luck wakakaka* =)

*how does it feel to be copied? not a nice feeling is it?

i'm a fan...

of traditions that is lol :)
nope did not get this from melaka but SG heh
no $ to buy electric fan so this will do wahaahahhaa =D

it doesnt matter whether it's black or white =)

ingenious works of art!

some of eugenio recuenco's pics may be provocative but they have a story to tell :)

you know he loves you when...

he looks at you lovingly though you may be doing the most unglam of things =)

a pretty girl might share the same table when you are with him at the hawker centre but he would assure you his love with a gentle squeeze of your hand =)

these are the little things which are worth more than that little stone called diamond =)

yes, material things can be a demonstration of love because sometimes he is afraid you may not notice these little actions but we must always understand that it is these little actions that makes love priceless =)

little nonya....

kebaya magnet! =)
not exactly cheap but considering it's hard to find, price of rm8 is reasonable :)

what's brown and sweet???

gula melaka in its purest form :)
bought this for dragon's mum :)

what's brown and super crispy???

i was never a kueh bangkit fan till i sunk my teeth into this!!!
not too sweet nor milky =)
now contemplating whether to give this to mum =p

baby kite =)

bought this little kite from a street vendor in melaka for rm3 :)
stupid clover bit off one of the pink coloured tail =p

a trip down memory lane =)

uncovered something else my cam can do - long exposure hee =)
took this while on the express bus that was heading home
this was on the JB highway :)

pass by this honda showroom while heading to JB customs
the honda has wings! ahahhahaha :)

initially thot the wind vane was a cross =p

the colourful bunga bunga trishaws :)

m'sia, truly asia :)

ruins of st. paul's church...
it's a pity that some stuff doesnt seemed to be well maintained :p

view while walking to st. paul's
melaka has something like the london eye 'cept smaller and it's called eye on malaysia :)

love the interiors of the Christ Church as it's decor is simple,
how a place of worship should be :)
as a sign of respect, photography is not allowed in the church else i would have loved to take pictures for memory's sake :)

this is one place that wil draw me back to melaka!!!
the food at nancy's kitchen tastes almost similar to that of dad's!
brings back good childhood memories to both tee and me
in our younger days, we dreaded having to eat the same old dishes but now we miss our family's cooking =(
we have to thank the drink stall lady who recommended this to us when we asked her whether there were nyonya food places nearby... we had walked for 30mins under the scorching sun and couldnt find any nyonya makan places 'cept seeing stall after stall of chicken rice ones =p tee was getting hungrier by the minute and more frustrated lol hence he decided to approach the auntie at the drink stall :)
the simple, messy but warm interiors of nancy's kitchen :)
reminds me of the back kitchen of my grandaunt dolly's terrace house
she used to make kueh kueh and fishball crackers whenever she knows i'm coming to visit with grandma emily... some days there would be fishball noodles etc :)
these are memories which i will always cherish *sniff*

best.lunch.ever.

babi salad! taste a little of cincalok, belchan and limau! bagus!
itek tim - this fails in comparison to the rest of the dishes though =p
maybe it's the lack of X.O brandy lol :)
hee piow soup a.k.a. fish maw soup! yummy to the max! =)
this one is tee's fave - curry chicken :)
it was recommended by the waiter whose service, well, requires one to have loads of patience =p
the one is my fave, the flavourful but yet not overpowering chendol!!!
even mentioning it now makes me salivate lol =)

wah! the belchan is chargeable but i'm not complaining cos i kinda can do without it today ahahaha =)
tee sees my future in her =p

jonker street is full of chicken rice stalls and all were jam packed with SG customers
we couldnt understand the want to queue long hours for this under the crazy weather =p
other than the rice came in ball form, surely the taste is almost like the ones back home???
that's why we opted for peranakan food which requires more effort and skill to prepare :)

a little similar to boat quay? :)

blow wind, blow... but no wind lor =p

still amused by the colourful trishaws =)

one of the yet-to-open cafes
i like the logo! has a bit of alice in wonderland feel to it :)

upon alighting from the express bus from SG, we were faced with lots of teksi touts
we had thot that the express bus would lead us directly to the melaka old town but no lor =p
we decided to be adventurous and take the public bus instead of cab
headed to the domestic bus terminal which was nearby
finding the right bus was confusing but tee spotted an auntie waiting at the terminal
she kindly directed us to the right bus to mahkota =)

it was a cool and hilarious experience taking the public bus!
it reminded us of the sbs buses in the 70s! we were also issued with paper tickets :)
the bus was without air condition and it only moved off when the bus was almost full (you have this person touting and trying to get passengers to fill up the bus lol)
those who are so used to our nice, clean and sometimes efficient bus service, you might not get used to this ahaahhaaa ;)
btw, the highlight of this bus journey was that midway through, the bus driver actually got down to buy 4D much to our surprise and amusement ahahhahaha =)
the locals were expressionless when the bus driver got off to do his thing, so it did not amuse them as much as it did to us and the 2 girls one seat ahead of us lol =)

while we waited in the bus, a mandarin-speaking woman in front of us lighted up her ciggie (there was a no smoking sign at the entrance to the bus terminal but apparently residents can choose to ignore it as even the bus tout lighted up soon after lol)
thankfully the wind blew her cigarette smoke to the opp side of the bus, which managed to irritate a tudung wearing teen =p

yong peng is the stop point for the coaches/express bus=)
stuff here are charged at tourist prices wor... but still affordable :)

there was a slight jam while heading to the immigration
but that got us discussing abt this sign lol
we rationalised why the letter 'U' is replaced by 'A' in the language
the answer was unlike english, 'bu' is always pronounced as 'boo'
hence 'bus' would be 'boose' lol

was late yet again =x
so tee had to pacify the driver, but lucky the driver was nice enough to not show black face when i reached heh
maybe cos also i din have a nonchalant attitude :)

blue here, blue there, blue everywhere :)
the view after passing thru the SG tuas customs :)
spectacular apparent horizon!
